THREE ANGEL’S MESSAGE: SATAN’S FINAL FRAUD!

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:9, KJV)

ABSTRACT

This article warns of Satan’s last and greatest deception in earth’s history—impersonating Christ to lead multitudes away from God’s law, especially the Sabbath commandment. Drawing from Scripture and inspired writings, it reveals how Satan’s pride birthed his strategies of falsehood, infiltrating even the church with counterfeit revivals and miracles to divide God’s people. The heart of his assault centers on making void God’s law, replacing Sabbath with Sunday observance. Yet amid this darkness, God’s love and justice assure victory for those who remain faithful, grounded in His Word, united in prayer, and clothed with the armor of God until truth triumphs in Christ’s return.3

END-TIMES EPIC BATTLE!

Satan unleashes his ultimate deceptions in the final moments of earth’s history to undermine God’s law and lead humanity astray. We face this reality through his cunning tactics that mask falsehood as truth and infiltrate even sacred spaces. Scripture warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:14, KJV, “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light,” illustrating how he exploits vulnerabilities like pride and fear. Through inspired counsel we are told, “As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ. The church has long professed to look to the Saviour’s advent as the consummation of her hopes. Now the great deceiver will make it appear that Christ has come. In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness, resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in the Revelation” (The Great Controversy, 624, 1911). Revelation 20:7-8, KJV, further reveals, “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.” A prophetic voice once wrote, “In this age antichrist will appear as the true Christ, and then the law of God will be fully made void in the nations of our world. Rebellion against God’s holy law will be fully ripe. But the true leader of all this rebellion is Satan clothed as an angel of light. Men will be deceived and will exalt him to the place of God, and deify him” (Last Day Events, 168, 1992). This battle calls us to unwavering vigilance, but how does Satan’s confusion of truth originate in his own fall from grace?

SATAN’S RISE: TRUTH TWISTED!

Ezekiel 28:17-18 (KJV) paints a vivid picture of Satan’s fall: “Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness.” His pride and rebellion birthed the same strategies he uses today—masking falsehood as truth. Satan amplifies these deceptions to appear as Christ, drawing us into a confederacy of darkness that engulfs the world and drives spiritual rebellion. Isaiah 14:12-13, KJV, declares, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.” In The Great Controversy we read, “Satan is striving to gain every advantage…. Disguised as an angel of light, he will walk the earth as a wonder-worker. In beautiful language he will present lofty sentiments; good words will be spoken by him and good deeds performed. Christ will be personified. But on one point there will be a marked distinction—Satan will turn the people from the law of God” (The Great Controversy, 589, 1911). 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10, KJV, adds, “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” The inspired pen reminds us, “Men are deceived by the miracles which Satan’s agents have power to do, not which they pretend to do” (The Great Controversy, 553, 1911). Satan’s tactics exploit human vulnerabilities—pride, fear, and the desire for control, so let us remain vigilant, measuring all teachings and actions against God’s Word, but how does this deception threaten to divide even our faith community?

CHURCH CHAOS: DIVIDED DOOM!

Tragically, deception will infiltrate even God’s church. Sr. White warns that “seducing spirits and doctrines of devils will arise within its midst” (Manuscript Releases, vol. 8, p. 345). Entire families who once embraced the truth will be swayed by false teachings (Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, p. 411). As “the forms of the dead will appear” (Upward Look, p. 317), many will harden their hearts against truth’s advocates. 1 Timothy 4:1, KJV, states, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” A passage from Testimonies for the Church reminds us, “Before the final visitation of God’s judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times…. The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work, and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to prevent it by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can bring under his deceptive power, he will make it appear that God’s special blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great religious interest” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, 28, 1904). Matthew 24:24, KJV, warns, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Through inspired counsel we are told, “Wherever men neglect the testimony of the Bible, turning away from those plain, soul-testing truths which require self-denial and renunciation of the world, there we may be sure that God’s blessing is not bestowed” (The Great Controversy, 464, 1911). This sobering reality challenges us to reflect by grounding ourselves in scripture and fostering open, honest dialogue about spiritual concerns, so we can protect the church from division and apostasy, but what specific aspect of God’s law becomes the focal point of Satan’s assault?

LAW ASSAULT: SABBATH STRIKE!

At the heart of Satan’s deception lies his attack on God’s law, particularly the fourth commandment regarding the Sabbath. Sr. White describes how Satan will assume “the appearance of Christ” to convince many that “God’s law has been changed” (Fundamentals of Christian Education, pp. 471-472). The Sabbath, a sacred sign of God’s authority, will be supplanted by Sunday observance. Exodus 20:8-10, KJV, commands, “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God.” Ellen G. White wrote, “Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions. While the former lays the foundation of spiritualism, the latter creates a bond of sympathy with Rome” (The Great Controversy, 588, 1911). Hebrews 4:9-10, KJV, affirms, “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” In Selected Messages we read, “God’s Word declares that Satan will work miracles. He will make people sick, and then will suddenly remove from them his satanic power. They will then be regarded as healed. These works of apparent healing will bring Seventh-day Adventists to the test” (Selected Messages, vol. 2, 53, 1958). This rebellion challenges us so we will remain faithful to God’s law even when societal norms and pressures demand otherwise, since the Sabbath is not merely a day of rest but a declaration of allegiance to our Creator, standing firm in this truth will require courage, faith, and reliance on God, but how does God’s love provide hope amid this encroaching darkness?

DIVINE LOVE: DARKNESS DEFEATED!

Even as Satan’s deceptions grow, God’s love shines as a beacon of hope. Ezekiel 28:18 declares that Satan’s rebellion will end in destruction: “I will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee.” This judgment reflects God’s justice, ensuring that evil will not prevail. God’s love is evident in His call to remain faithful. Romans 8:37-39, KJV, proclaims, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” A prophetic voice once wrote, “Jesus gained the victory through submission and faith in God, and by the apostle He says to us, ‘Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.’ James 4:7,8” (The Desire of Ages, 130, 1898). 1 John 4:4, KJV, assures, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” The inspired pen emphasizes, “It is true that Satan is a powerful being; but, thank God, we have a mighty Saviour, who cast out the evil one from heaven. Satan is pleased when we magnify his power. Why not talk of Jesus? Why not magnify His power and His love?” (The Desire of Ages, 493, 1898). As Sr. White writes, “Victory is assured through unwavering trust in God’s truth” (Selected Messages, vol. 2, p. 157). By standing firm, we testify to God’s unchanging character and His desire to restore humanity, but how can our community unite to respond effectively in these perilous times?

FAITHFUL FIGHT BACK!

In these perilous times, we must unite as a faith community, drawing strength from one another. Sr. White reminds us that “those who refuse to compromise…will face increased persecution” (Selected Messages, vol. 2, p. 157). Yet, as we stand together, our collective faith becomes a fortress against deception. Ephesians 6:11-12, KJV, instructs, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Through inspired counsel we are told, “The greatest want of the world is the want of men – men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall” (Education, 57, 1903). Jude 1:3, KJV, urges, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” In The Great Controversy we read, “But God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible, and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines and the basis of all reforms” (The Great Controversy, 595, 1911). By fostering a spirit of prayer, accountability, and encouragement, we can resist the tide of falsehood as members of the broader community, our mission is to shine God’s light in a dark world, pointing others to His truth and love, but what ultimate perseverance is required to secure victory in God’s truth?

TRUTH’S TRIUMPHANT STAND!

Satan’s ultimate deception is a call to spiritual vigilance and faith. As he seeks to make void God’s law, we are reminded of the importance of grounding ourselves in scripture and standing firm in our convictions. Through God’s love and justice, victory is assured for those who remain faithful. 2 Timothy 4:7-8, KJV, declares, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” A passage from Last Day Events reminds us, “We are to hold to the sure pillars of our faith. The principles of truth that God has revealed to us are our only true foundation. They have made us what we are. The lapse of time had not lessened their value” (Last Day Events, 52, 1992). Hebrews 10:35-36, KJV, encourages, “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Ellen G. White wrote, “As a people we are to stand firm on the platform of eternal truth that has withstood test and trial” (Counsels to Writers and Editors, 52, 1923). Let us rise to the challenge with confidence, knowing that God’s truth is our shield, His love our strength, and His promises our hope as a community united in faith, we can overcome deception and glorify the God of heaven.
